Classical circuit analysis algorithms (lumped parameter) are needed for circuit devices and the network formed by the interconnected devices. Minn Kota will need to work pretty hard to keep their 80% market share.Implementation of interconnect simulation tools in spiceĪccurate computer simulation of high speed digital computer circuits and communication circuits requires a multimode approach to simulate both the devices and the interconnects between devices. With the new Garmin and the Lowrance, the trolling motor landscape is about to change in a big way. More to come on Garmin's new Force when we've had a chance to take it out for a spin. I'm running a bit long here so I'll leave you with some pictures of the beast. The Ultrex is a fantastic motor with amazing technology but it's not exactly flying off the shelves at least not at. I must admit that this is a bit puzzling to me considering the Ultrex's relatively low volume (perhaps even disappointingly low for Minn Kota). All indications point to Lowrance's new motor focusing on the Ultrex market as well. There's absolutely no doubt about it the Ultrex is the obvious target for Garmin's new motor. Retail price starts at $3,100 which is a bit more expensive than a fully loaded Ultrex Minn Kota's priciest motor overall.

Garmin has loaded the Force with every possible bell and whistle: integrated high resolution transducer (optional), GPS functionality with full networking capabilities, wireless foot pedal etc. Based on the feature set and specs, this is a fully decked out motor. This is a concern for me because I'm excited to offer it but the shipping will be a big factor. How are they going to box this thing up and allow retailers like us to ship it without having to charge for freight? We don't charge shipping on motors but this one looks like it will have to go by truck freight which means big bucks: $200 or so. From the looks of it, the Force has to weigh at least 100 pounds. Which brings me to my next point: this is a HUGE motor. Compared to the Garmin, most motors will look like a twig with a prop. I suspect that Garmin Force owners will have a good chuckle rolling up on a MotorGuide cable steer (sorry MotorGuide.) motor. With its matte black paint job and sharp lines, it's borderline intimidating. The motor looks like a Star Wars TIE Fighter and a Lamborghini had a baby. The Force looks fantastic in my opinion kudos to Garmin's design team. A "scissor style mount" (unclear whether it is a quick release bracket).A "high efficiency brushless motor" that Garmin purports to have "more power yet quieter steering".A remote control with full motor operation functionality, a color screen and GPS control for features such as anchor lock and autopilot.oh and it also floats.A wireless foot pedal that "provides instant control and responsiveness" that "feels and steers like a cable steered pedal".The Force also has a cable management system for Garmin's Panoptix and Panoptix LiveScope sonars on select Garmin models (e.g.The Garmin Force includes an integrated high definition transducer that provides Ultra High definition ClearVu, SideVu scanning, as well as numerous CHIRP frequencies.Garmin's Chartplotter technology provides wireless connectivity to a wide variety of Garmin fishfinders (similar to Minn Kota's i-Pilot Link).Garmin has incorporated its own version GPS technology (similar to Minn Kota's i-Pilot) with autopilot, anchor lock and other GPS features. You can use either a 24v or 36v set up for the same motor! Freshwater only offered in 24 and 36 volt with 87lbs and 120lbs of thrust respectively. Here's What You Should Know About Garmin's New Trolling Motor: That was apparently untrue because Garmin's new motor is on their site and ready to go! There has been a lot of chatter about new trolling motors from Garmin and Lowrance but I was under the impression that the Lowrance trolling motor was a bit further along. The new Garmin Trolling Motor is here and it's called The Force. The Garmin Force Trolling Motor Is Here The Garmin Force Trolling Motor Makes Its Debut - and It Looks Awesome!
